He's Here

Welcome to the world.
I can't believe you're finally here.
I started having contractions Wednesday morning.
I texted your Dad and asked him if he wanted a thanksgiving baby.
He freaked out a little and asked if I was serious.
You weren't due until 11/26/2018
(Your Dad cursed us from the beginning, he kept saying you were coming on thanksgiving)
I took the day off from work and decided to finish my Christmas shopping for Caleb before you came. I stopped by the BKC to say "hi" to Grandma and let her know you might be coming.
Although, I was wishing you to stay inside until after thanksgiving.
I wanted to spend time with my family, it was their year. I was excited to have my mom's stuffing.
You obviously didn't listen to my wishing.
At 5:00 my contractions started getting more regular.
I took a bath at 8, when I got out Caleb made me time them...again.
They were 5-8 minutes apart. Not quite close enough.
We decided to go to bed and they got more intense being 4-6 minutes apart lasting for more than a minute. We called the midwife and she told us to go in.

I had a feeling they'd send me home. I'm a first timer.
They checked me and I was dilated to a little more than a 2, so they told us to wait an hour and see if I increased in dilation.
Nope, didn't happen.
The nurse kept telling me about false labor.
I knew I was in real labor.
When she left the room to get pain meds and a wheel chair, I told Caleb I'd punch her in the face if she told me I was having false labor one more time.
I could hardly stand to walk to the wheelchair, holding on Caleb.
I took the pain meds, they wheeled me out the car and we left.
I was in so much pain on the way home I had Caleb stop the car because the movement was making crazy. We finally made it home and my contractions increased from there.
The pain meds would take away my "false labor" the nurse said.
Hahahaha.

I tried to go to sleep, so did Caleb.
I kept waking him up telling him to push on my knees and back I was in so much pain.
He said we were going to the hospital, but my contractions were the same and I didn't want to get sent home again.
I decided to take another bath and the pain intensified from there.
I couldn't even get out of the bath.
Caleb finally pulled me out, helped me get dressed, and I did everything I could to run to the car before another contraction started.
I was pounding on the car windows, chairs, and dash.
I was dilated to a 5 when we got to the hospital at 5:30 am.
My back felt like it was breaking in half the pain was so intense.
When they gave me an epidural I was at a six.
I took a nap for a few hours
When I woke up I was at a seven and they broke my water that afternoon.
I was dilated to a 10, but little man didn't want to come down to the birth canal. He wanted to come early but started to hesitate, that little stinker.
I pushed for 2 hours and finally he came at 5:27 pm.
Weighing 8 pounds and 5 ounces.
21 inches long.
I was so exhausted from pushing I honestly didn't think I could do it, but then was in my arms before I knew it and it was over.
I mean, look at my sweet sweet family.
How did I get so blessed?
]
I mean, seriously? I love them.
Wesley Caleb was born on thanksgiving 11/22/2018 and he was so worth missing thanksgiving dinner for (although my family is the best and brought us leftovers, thanks guys!)
